Qualitel has secured a new partnership with Worcestershire County Cricket Club, providing mobile telecommunications support for the next two years and enabling the Club to benefit from a tariff that is tailored to their specific needs, which in turn gives considerable savings against previous mobile phone contracts.

Additionally, The Qualitel brand will now be seen in and around New Road as a corporate sponsor.

Commenting on today’s announcement, David Leatherdale Commercial Director of Worcestershire County Cricket Club said: “Qualitel undertook the initial benchmarking exercise and went to great lengths to learn about Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

“This research enabled them to prove that they had developed an excellent understanding of our business and the needs that are critical to our daily operations. In partnership with the O2 network they provided a competitive package overall and implemented an effcient solution in order for the clubs users to receive and reply to emails remotely utilising Blackberry Devices.

“This has greatly improved the operational response times within all aspects of the club. The seamless transition from Vodafone our original network provider to O2 was excellent, and I would recommend Qualitel to anyone who is looking to improve their telecoms provision.”

The massive growth of social media over the past 10 years has brought about a new generation of mobile technology as more and more consumers demand to keep in touch on the go.

Apple’s iPhone has proved to be a phenomenon in the telecoms market and the recent Palm Pre, both of which are transforming the way we stay in touch in our personal and professional lives.

But with so many different forms of communication, including phone, email and hundreds of social media networks, it can become overwhelming when trying to keep updated.

There could be an answer with the world’s first ‘true’ social media Smartphone set to launch onto the market.

Called the HTC Wildfire, it follows in the footsteps of the successful HTC Desire model and provides users with the HTC Sense experience, integrating the most popular social media networks across the web.

“Today’s social networks provide an essential forum for friendship with more than 400 million users – many of whom are young adults – actively sharing their lives with their friends through Facebook,” said Florian Seiche, Vice President of HTC EMEA. “HTC Wildfire makes the HTC Sense experience available to young mobile users for the first time. It brings all your communications into one place, whether it’s through Facebook, Twitter, text messages, images or email, ensuring that you are never far away from the conversation and always close to your friends.”

But what does this mean for business? Well if you’re a company that moves with the times, you’ll have undoubtedly added social media to your marketing strategy. Your company will probably be on Facebook and Twitter and you might do most of your business through social networking, more so than using traditional communication channels.

You’ll want to keep constantly updated with everything that’s happening online. So a new social media Smartphone has everything you need at your fingertips, making life a whole lot easier for you and your team.

HTC Wildfire helps you stay connected through HTC Sense, a user experience focused on putting people at the centre by making phones work in a more simple and natural way. It has a HTC Friend Stream application which seamlessly gathers and displays content from social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr into one organised stream of updates. The HTC Wildfire allows you to stay up to date with posts, comments, alerts and photos wherever you are.

What’s more, each contact viewed in HTC Wildfire’s address book includes a thread of recent communications with that person, including when you last spoke, recent text messages and emails, and social network updates.

Thanks to a new app sharing widget, HTC Wildfire enables you to recommend an application by email, text message or over social networks.

So what’s the Qualitel verdict? In terms of social media integration, the HTC Wildfire certainly packs a punch and is set to become a market leader when it launches in Europe later this year.

If you’d like advice or information on the best mobile products and services for your business, call Qualitel free on 08000 407 941. Our experts can provide expert guidance as well as save you money.

Online shopping transformed the retail industry as we knew it and made the lives of customers much easier, appealing to our increasingly busy lives and offering convenience for many.

Things are now set to change once again with the development of shopping sites that have been specifically designed for mobile phones.

Leading the way is Marks and Spencer who became the UK’s first retailer to cater for the mobile internet market when they launched their new site on May 12th. M&S decided to make the move after discovering that their online store was difficult for customers to use on their mobile, unless of course they own an iPhone.

Dave Hughes, Director of M&S Direct, said: “The new site allows customers to browse and buy from their mobile device without the frustrations that come with trying to do the same on a traditional website.”

This is not the first time that the retail giant has been one step ahead of the game when it comes to embracing technology. In 2008, they started using mobile marketing in the form of text messages and a year after that they became one of the first British stores to use social networking sites to increase brand awareness.

Mr Hughes hopes that the development of their site will attract more online shoppers and anticipates that it will bring about “a major step forward in mobile retailing”.

If until now you have resisted the temptation of getting Internet on your mobile phone but want to be part of the shopping revolution then why not give Qualitel a call and they will be more than happy to help.

We’re not tied to any provider and are completely independent, so we can give you the best advice on what to choose based on your specific needs. Call us free on 08000 407 941 or email info@qualitelecom.co.uk.

With the launch of the new iPad next month, many observers are asking how Apple’s latest offering will affect the business world.

Most predict that the new technology is set to become a lightweight replacement to the laptop and a more practical solution to the iPhone or Blackberry.

The iPad has many appealing features, the most important being that it allows easy connection with all your emails, contacts and calendar events as it’s compatible with Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or 2007. It also offers open standards-based servers for mail, calendar and contacts and you can easily sync IMAP mail servers.

But what about security? Is your data safe on the iPad? Well, Apple has been thorough in its security features by allowing you to have complex passcodes to access important information securely and encrypt data where necessary. You’ll even be able to instantly and remotely wipe everything from your iPad should your tablet be lost or stolen.

What’s more, network communications are protected with built-in support for Cisco IPSec VPN, WPA2 Enterprise Wi-Fi and SSL/TLS. While certificate-based authentication enables iPad to securely connect corporate data via Exchange and VPN.

Looking at the iPad’s web browsing capabilities, you can view whole web pages in portrait or landscape – similar to the iPhone. And – thanks to various security features – you can get secure access to your company’s intranet and other resources.

iWork applications allow you to create documents, presentations, spreadsheets and charts all available using its ‘touch-screen’ technology. It’s based on the iWork suite for the Mac but has been completely redesigned for the iPad. Applications include Keynote, Pages and Numbers – all are available from the iTunes store.

What makes the iPad even more appealing? The range of accessories it has to offer, making it perfect for the office or being ‘on the go’. There’s an iPad case – ideal for carrying around your iPad. It also folds to act as a stand – perfect for watching slideshows or for typing on the onscreen keyboard. There’s also an iPad Keyboard Dock that acts as both a charger and a full-size keyboard. Apple’s wireless keyboards are also compatible with the iPad.

With all of these features combined and with so many of us travelling more frequently and demanding an ‘office on the move’, the iPad is without doubt going to become this year’s ‘must-have’ gadget for business.

At Qualitel, we are happy to consult you on all the latest mobile technology and communications. If you’d like to have a chat about your business mobile communications, call us free on 08000 407 941.

It’s fascinating to see how mobile phone technology has transformed society and the way we do business over the past 25 years.

I remember when a telephone was just a telephone, something that allowed you to contact someone if they happened to be at home or in the office when you called. It certainly wasn’t the easiest way to stay in touch or conduct business by relying on landlines alone.

With this in mind, it’s no wonder mobile ownership soared in the 1990s with more than 43m mobile phone users by 2000. Everyone wanted to enjoy the sense of freedom and convenience the technology offered.

But with new technology comes cultural shifts. Nothing has had a bigger impact on the business world than mobile phones or indeed our entire society. Just look at how public transport has adapted, for instance. We now have phone chargers, Wi-Fi and ‘quiet carriages’ on most of our trains.

Now, with the previous decade’s introduction of ‘mobile computing’, we’re able to be away from our desks more than ever before and stay completely in touch with everything and everyone back at the office. Mobile phone technology has revolutionised our daily working lives and has made business efficient, cost-effective and a whole lot easier to manage.

Take smart phones like the iPhone, for instance. A ‘touch-screen’ gadget that allows easy web browsing and convenient access to emails and social media accounts. We can now stay in touch and do business wherever we are in the world, all in the palm of our hand. That’s whether we’re travelling to meetings; out on sales calls or working from home, we can make the most productive use of our time.

The soon-to-launch iPad is anticipated to have an even larger impact on the business world and is expected to replace the laptop as a lightweight and more advanced alternative.

Further advances in technology will undoubtedly confirm mobile computing as the driving force behind any business. The ongoing rise in popularity of social media and the Internet will certainly add fuel to this fire.

But mobile computing and communications costs money and it can be difficult to know which solutions are best for your business. That’s where a provider like Qualitel can help. We are experts in all the latest technologies and will always ensure you’re on the best available tariffs to suit your needs.

What’s more, we’re independent of any of the major networks and have the highest accreditations including Vodafone Premier Partner, Orange Business Specialist and o2 Approved Dealer, meaning we work for you not them. Basically, if you need to switch networks to cut costs, that’s what we’ll do.

Whatever your enquiry, we are happy to consult you on all the latest mobile computing technology and communications. If you’d like to have a chat, call us free on 08000 407 941.

Did you know that one of the easiest and quickest ways to cut costs in business today is to manage your communications properly?

It’s surprising to note just how few businesses today even bother to look at how much simple phone calls are costing them. In a recent survey, over a third of directors never even glanced at their monthly bills.

Here’s Qualitel’s top tips to make your communication – whether it’s mobile phones, broadband, or landlines – more cost effective:

Mobile in the office – Mobile phones are there for a reason – so why are so many employees using them when they’re in the office to make calls? That’s what landlines are there for. If you’re a business, you can avoid sky-high mobile bills simply by making sure your workforce use the right phone for the job. It’s simple, but it can save thousands.

Check your tariffs – Obvious but effective. Make sure you always go through an independent company like Qualitel, who will help identify the best and most cost-effective provider to meet your needs without being biased to any of the network providers.

Personal use – Any workforce that has company mobile phones should also have a robust mobile phone policy which is implemented. This can mean limiting what calls can be made for personal and private use on a company phone, which can be open to abuse by some employees.

Review, review, review – Just because you may have what you think is a good deal, don’t be afraid to challenge it. Regular communication reviews can save you a lot of money. Schedule a 6-monthly or annual review of your bills and charges, to make sure you don’t miss any opportunities to save money by switching.

Replace, or repair? – Your old phone system is outdated and you need better equipment. Before you replace it, have you considered that it could just be a case of updating and repairing your system? At Qualitel, we can help bring your equipment up-to-date instead of a complete replacement. We can also provide reconditioned telephone systems, and even take your old system in part-exchange, if your budget is tight.

Mobile technology – Don’t know your Blackberry from a raspberry? Is Android alien to you? You could get smarter and more cost-effective with your communication if you can harness the latest technology available. At Qualitel, our own in-house ‘mobilisation manager,’ can help bring you up-to-date with gadgets and apps to make your business a streamlined success.

Buying power – Did you know that going through independent communication providers, rather than direct to suppliers, can save you money? Qualitel’s bulk-buying power means that we can save you, for instance, up to 30% against BT Business Plan.

Solutions provider – Use a company like Qualitel for all your business communication needs. Not only can we save you money, we can also offer cost-effective solutions you may not even have thought of. That’s what we’re here for. It’s not just about the cheapest tariff; it’s about making sure you get what’s right for your business, at the best price possible.

In business, talk isn’t cheap. It can cost you a lot of cash if you’re not on the right tariffs for your communication needs. Whether it’s mobile or landline communication solutions, in the UK businesses waste thousands through not comparing costs, or keeping an eye on escalating mobile phone bills from employees.

A survey out last year estimated that businesses are losing out to the tune of £264million a year simply through excessive mobile phone use in the workplace.

But it’s too easy a mistake to make. We’re all busy, and who has the time to analyse a company mobile phone bill and to then compare it with another provider? The sheer wealth of tariffs, handsets and packages, let alone providers, can make a direct comparison nigh on impossible.

Plus, with the advent of the Smartphone, it’s all too easy to reach for our tactile, touch-screen friend. All your numbers are in it, why bother looking one up to then dial it on the workplace landline?

It’s no wonder your business is probably haemorrhaging cash right now on communication costs. At Qualitel, we can help stem this flow of wasted money. Every business wants to cut costs in these times. And your communication tariffs are an easy starting point.

Using a provider like Qualitel will make sure you are always on the best tariffs to suit your business. Because we conduct regular reviews to make sure you’re getting the absolute best deal, so you don’t have to.

And the great news is that we’re completely independent of any of the major networks. Although we have excellent working partnerships with the networks, and the highest accreditations including Vodafone Premier Partner, O2 Approved Dealer and Orange Business Specialist status, we work for you, not for them. If you need to switch your network to save money, that’s what will happen.

We can also implement fixed line cost solutions to make sure your business really is working at its best when it comes to communication. So call us free today on 08000 407 941 to find out if talk really can be cheap with Qualitel.
