BUSINESS telecoms specialist Qualitel has landed a deal to provide a fellow Newcastle firm with pinpoint satellite vehicle tracking.
Qualitel is fitting 30 vehicles with tracking technology at Silverdale asbestos management company Environmental Essentials.
Directors say the system will help Environmental Essentials protect its workforce by monitoring their location and responding in case of accident or breakdown.
It’s hoped the technology can also help the firm cut fuel costs and emissions as jobs can be delegated more effectively depending on location.
Environmental Essentials director James Riley said: “We place a high value on the safety of our staff and as many work alone in the domestic sector, we need to know their whereabouts at any given time.
“The vehicle tracker provides peace of mind for all staff and demonstrates our commitment to our corporate responsibilities, including reducing our carbon footprint to help the environment.
“The system has also assisted our internal time-attendance systems and allows us to evaluate productivity and motoring costs in order to provide the most cost-effective solutions to our clients.”
Qualitel managing director Mike Ridgway added: “It is really important for us to create lasting relationships with our customers.
“We are pleased to be working with another local, successful company in the form of Environmental Essentials.”
